Sounds like Home

As I type, Diana plays her favorite pieces on the piano. We haven’t heard them since November.  Here’s the scoop.

Diana and I trekked down to SLC again to the Moran Eye Center today. Dr. Digre and her team evaluated Diana’s left eye. And hallelujah! Almost two hours of testing later, she was proclaimed “much, much better.” Her Cranial 3 Nerve palsy is almost completely healed! They have taken the tape off of her lenses and she is no longer dizzy. She only has double vision now when she looks up. All other areas either adjust on their own or she can bring them into focus by taking a moment to think. Her blinking is still not in sync, but they gave her challenges that should improve that. Because the healing is going well, they anticipate that it will continue and eventually she be able to look up and blink correctly. And they discharged her from care there. Yay!

On the school front, she is caught up in AP Government, AP Biology, and LDS seminary. And yes, with some extra tutoring, she earned A’s. Now she is working on finishing AP Stats. Her stamina now allows her to attend school for 4 classses and lunch. She loves it!

My heart loves her abiliy to sit and play these songs again. As I listen, I smile. She would try to play a difficult piece before,  but would stumble on the left hand because she could not see. Trying to play for longer than a few minutes hurt her head and she would quit. Tonight as soon as we got back home, she played for over an hour. I feel overcome with gratitude!
